Ray Winstone: extraordinary!

WARNING: SOME SPOILERS....

Just watched Nil by Mouth last night. The scene that stuck with me the most was Ray's monologue about his father and the chair. If that's not one of the best displays of method acting ever, I don't know what is. And that heartbreaking scene when he drunkenly apologizes into the disconnected phone was simply amazing. What will it take for this guy to get more exposure and more major roles? It was nice to see him in a big US release (Cold Mountain), but the producers didn't give him much room to display his amazing talents. He deserves so much more credit!

I totally agree. When I went to see Cold Mountain, I was thrilled to see him in it. Didn't even know he was. I can't really say what was my favorite scene in Nil by Mouth. It was so incredible, I felt like I was in the same room as the characters in the film.

Ray's an incredible actor.

The scene he's explaining the whole reason why he's such a bastard "Nil By Mouth" (his father never loved him or gave him any attention) was incredible.

Always made you feel sorry for him. Was so good it made me numb.
