Don't get me wrong, Kimmy has her flaws but Jules was extremely unlikable. I hated her character.

The dude was kind of wishy-washy, so what was there to win? But Jules was an awful character. Hateful, jealous, malicious. Kimmy was not bright but she was kind.

It's a long time since I saw it but - and this is what puts it a smidgeon above most modern romcoms - I'm pretty sure we were not expected to side with the protagonist, but rather enjoy watching her scheme and lose.

Agreed. I think she got what she deserved and I enjoyed the movie :)

Yes, Kimmy was great. She was sincere and genuine, and has good intentions. She honestly wanted to bond with Jules.
