Crying Child
Anyone know why the child was crying at the part where ernie and lars go to the animal shelter?

share yeah this is the reason why i cannot watch this film,,, and if it wasent for this i would love it
but any cruelty like that taking a cat or dog,,,, it realy upsets me very sick and im one of the hardest people to offend,, but there was ntthing col at all about that scne, and it made me and still will make me cry -- and hardly anything in film ever upsets me because -- its not real its only acting
but the whole little child heartbroken loosing cat, mean angry mom, ad the gssing of the animls, sorr i cant handle it.... so, nope i catnt watch this film due to that ;-(
It's a sick joke, but given the dark context of the film, I actually kinda think it's funny. I mean, this is an extraordinarilly twisted film, and is deffinitly not a kid's movie, as a lot of people think.
I look at it as more of a 13-years-old and up "cartoon"- the content is oftentimes dark and mature, and it very obviously is not intended for young children, but it still has that sort of Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck feel to it. It's kind of like an all-ages comedy.
That's why I'm very displeased when I see it in the children's section of my local video store, not to mention the ridiculas DVD box-cover that feels nothing like the film itself.
Jeez, it's just a movie! No little white kitties were harmed in the making of this movie.

if they did gas the little kitten then why did they do it in front of people, i opinion is that they were cleaning it and making sure it did not have any diseases.
shareim just going to pretend they were 'cleaning' it, even though that guy seemed to have to be disinfected in a seperate room before coming out.... NOT a kids movie! this movie made me so upset as a kid cuz of that one stupid part.

i mean a guy shooting a poor harmless mouse could be seen as violent too
I over analyse things too, example:
* when the pest control guy picks up mouse droppings and says its 10cm...wtf? i think he meant 10 mm
* when lee evans gets his jacket caught on the machine it SOME how also unravelled his pants too..i mean wtf??
* plus the ending never carried the scene where the baddies get there just deserts i.e the wife ends up poor and broke and it served her right for treating 'evans' like crap
you know, the crap thats usually in adam sandler movies
About the 10 cm, at first I was like what, he obviousy doesn't understand the metric system lol. Then I realized he meant the size of the mouse. That would be about 5" which would be realistic. Remember he was determining all kinds of things about it just based on looking at the poop (and eating it ugh).
shareI went through this too and after watching it again I don't believe they were gassing it. If you notice the guy stays in the room when that gas starts coming out, there is no way that would be happening if they were killing it. And also in front of people. I think it was just a weird place and they were disinfecting it like they do themselves and their suits.
shareIt is just over the top humour! Some people are so stupid! They don't even gas animals in such methods as it is not an official method, just cheaper. So sometimes a bad shelter will put a load of puppies in a refuse bag and use a C02 fire extinguisher to asphyxiate them. But the whole bio hazard thing was just humour, making it look like some lab with dangerous chemicals or bacteria. Animal shelters don't have airlocks with cleaning jets. :L
It's time to nut up or shut up!
I saw it in the theater and I disc not bother watching it again because of that scene. It broke my heart and upset me and I watched it last night with subtitles to see if she was crying for her daddy or her kitty. I would have told my mother I hate you right then and there.
