This movie kind of scared me when I first watched it

I saw this when I was in the 6th grade and I was kind of disturbed by it, I mean mainly due to the fact that this film so filled with so much dark humor for a kids film but I look back at it and I love it. Any one else think this film is too dark for kids?

Only the part with the funeral and where the dead body is flying through the air at the beginning. I thought that was a bit much, especially for younger children.

what about with Christopher Walken where the ambulance is taking him, man he looked so scary with all the bruises and scratches on his face, then the tape recorder that they found of him screaming and the horror music playing in the background, for a kid thats frightning but now that I'm 20, its pretty funny.

Mouse Hunt really disturbed me when I watched it back in 3rd grade. I was always really anxious for the movie to get back to the scenes featuring the brothers battling the mouse. The scene where the brothers come out of the mansion covered in fecal matter was extremely disgusting. It was sort of hilarious though when Christopher Walken looked so hideous after having his face torn up on the stairs, because I remember looking over at my grandmother, who was gaping at the horror of it all.

But to this day, there is only one scene in this movie that still creeps me out, and it's when the fat man throws up the cockroach during the fancy dinner. And when the little girl stabs one of the roaches with her fork... that was equally disturbing.

The cockroach scene and the funeral scene were pretty messed up, LOL! But I still enjoyed it.

The first time I saw this movie was in theaters, actually. I was only 4 at the time, but I do remember being a little creeped out by the house when they first arrive and it's all dark, especially the attic with all those old paintings and that creepy jack-in-the-box. After the movie started going, though, I found it so much fun, especially the ending when the walls are all blown out of the house from the water and it collapses. I loved that scene as a child.
