Are all the characters related to each other in this movie?

SPOILERS

I'm trying to write an article on Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, and I'm having trouble keeping track of all the relationships of the characters.

Here's what I can tell from the dialog: Kitana is Sindel's daughter. Shao Kahn and Raiden are brothers, and they're both sons of Shinook, who married Sindel.

* But is Sindel Shao Kahn and Raiden's biological, or step mother?
* Is Shinook Kitana's biological, or step father?
* Are Raiden, Shao Kahn and Kitana brothers and sisters, half brothers and sisters, or step brothers and sisters?

I can't keep track of this Braidy Bunch mess!

Lemme see if I can sort this out.

Sindel is Shao Kahn's wife, not his mother. Shao Kahn and Raiden are brothers, sons of Shinnok. Sindel is Kitana's mother, not Mileena's, even though Mileena and Kitana are "twins" (non-biological). Shao Kahn is Kitana's stepfather, he murdered Kitana's real father, King Jerrod, Sindel's first husband. Then he married Sindel and took Kitana as his own daughter.

Did that make sense?
