always wondered this myself. It looked like he just panicked for some reason, although I'm not sure why the officer would have panicked him when he did not seem afraid of K and D and was talking calmly to them. Only thing I can figure is that he regarded any human he didn't know as a threat, possibly to avoid exposure.
