Aliens (1986) was clearly a ripoff of this Movie
I posted this a while back in the Aliens forum, but didn't get much traction. So, Jurassic Park: The Lost World from 1997 and Aliens (1986). The similarities between this movie and Aliens are striking. Both movies included:
(1) A main character/hero from the original (Ripley/Malcolm), that reluctantly agreed to return to his nightmare world
(2) The same monster (Alien/T-Rex), but then had more of them.
(3) An overconfident, highly equipped team of military/professional characters designed to (kill/capture) the (Aliens/Dinosaurs) that relied too much on technology and firepower.
(4) An underlying/hidden financial incentive ((1) Paul Reiser wants to bring back an Alien for the corporation, (2) the Quasi-military team is trying to take dinosaurs off the island for some sort of new park, and (3) Pete Postlethwaite wants to go on the big hunt),
(5) One of the quasi military guys turns out to be a big help (Cpl. Hicks/Postlethwaite)
(6) There was an overly resourceful hidden/hiding little little girl constantly in danger that the good guys were constantly saving (Newt/Malcolm's daughter)
(7) The little girl had parent-like attachment to the main hero (Ripley was like a mom to Newt, and Malcolm was a dad but somewhat detached from daughter)
(8) The Aliens and Dinosaurs were severely underestimated, the hero spends half the move trying to convince people of that (Ripley/Malcolm)
(9) The Aliens and Dinosaurs end up in a new environment, larger environment (open planet colony to an enclosed spaceship vs. enclosed island to San Diego).
As Ian Malcolm said, life always finds a way. That includes Aliens.
So only logical conclusion is that James Cameron got into a time machine, visited 1997 and watched The Lost Kingdom, then went back to 1985 and wrote the script for Aliens.
Update:
Alien Resurrection and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also have similarities, such as cocky scientists attempting to resurrect a beast that wreaked havoc on multiple people in prior movies. Storing the beast in an enclosure that clearly will not hold it. Dumb scientist/zookeeper guy harassing the alien/T-Rex/Raptors. Really stupid move.
