Wolliams' score
I prefer the dread, menace & terror of this score to the awe and wonder of the first. I consider this one of John Williams' finest scores.

shareWell it's hard to compare them, you know? It still FEELS like the Original, just much more Up Tempo and complex to fit the film. I definitely know what you're getting at, it's a common idea. Just like some people prefer the Action in this Vs that "Awe" and Adventure in the Original. To me, both fit the themes of each film BUT in the original JP, it was just mind blowing. Spielberg(For all his detractors) is without a doubt one of the greatest filmmakers ever. He understands how to entertain the audience that is the core for each film he directs. When he makes a Jaws, JP or Minority Report, it has just as much impact as a say, Saving Private Ryan or Schindlers List... Just for a different crowd. I know I'm rambling on but the point is, the change in Score was something he and John Williams made sure to address and it absolutely worked. I will always have a certain admiration for the Original, it's hard to surpass but this is an overlooked gem of a film.
