Jackies plan of giving her the unmarked cash was so that the cops would find it on her and know she stole the money. but they only find this out because she was killed. but what if she wasn't killed? Was Jackie expecting her to be killed? or thought she would be picked up with the marked cash on her.

Wouldn't the cops have picked up her after Jackie ratted on her? She would still have the $10 grand in marked bills and they'd be in pretty much the same situation they ended up with. The $10 grand on her would be enough for them to believe parts of her story and let her go. Now I'm sure Melanie would have told them that her taking the money was part of their plan but again it would be her word against Jackie's.
sharealso Melanie was a last minute replacement for Simone, who'd absconded. Which was very convenient for Jackie because, as far as the authorities knew, Melanie wasn't part of the original plan at all

Same difference. You get the same pronunciation at least so bugger off. Now if they wrote "MELODY" then you'd have a better argument minus the "melon" part. No one was saying she was a melon. Then again, her brain came off as a melon so there's a connection to write her name as "Melony" then.
