What's the fuss ??

Is there something I'm supposed to find out or be enlightened by in this film?? It's so god damn boring and I watched it because of the praise. I was waiting for something to happen that just never did.
Definitely a total bore and brings absolutely nothing new to light about America and and upper class . I get the whole suburbs and people bored and have nothing to do with themselves and ....SO WHAT ??? Good cast and a waste of one and my 2hrs. Not worth the hype whatsoever .

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

Do the world a favor and leave the IMDb message boards and stay with your Hollywood blockbusters. You clearly cant handle subtle drama's like this one

You said it yourself - boredom in the suburbs. People who know that feeling can relate to the film. No enlightenment - but just the way that boredom can bring people down.

Why were they so bored inthe suburbs? Some worked in the city so they weren’t isolated from culture and opportunities. Besides the kids in the city apartment just got wasted and passed out. Guess the city was boring too.

Seems like the theme revolves around being bored with sex and with each other - affairs, “key parties”. The kids copying the adults and having a mini affair which bores them too. They are all pressing on each other to provide some spark to ignite their lost passion. (spark = pun intended.). No one had passion, except the one kid who took a walk in the ice storm to admire the beauty of it.

Thank you. I felt the same way. Like, when is SOMETHING going to happen? I grew up in the burbs, but my childhood wasn't as angsty and empty as those kids. And parents have affairs, big deal. I felt like this movie was trying to "say something" and be philosophical, but it was just one long boring mess.

Could've used some zombies or ninjas.

Or better yet, aliens. S. Weaver takes on the aliens here on earth!
