Top 5 cynical films?

OK, indulge me. What are your top 5 films that leave the audience feeling cynical, dark, or spiritually violated? (Not that that's a bad feeling for a film to give...)

In the Company of Men
Your Friends and Neighbors
The Ice Storm
The Magdelene Sisters
Amores Perros

Love this thread, right up my alley. I can't stick with just five though.

American Beauty
The Virgin Suicides (the book even more so)
Blue Valentine
Melancholia
Twin Falls Idaho
Winter's Bone
And of course, as has been mentioned so many times already, Mysterious Skin and Requiem for a Dream. I haven't been able to watch either of those movies a second time because they disturbed me so much.

You heart me? What is that? Is that like I love you for pussies?

Time Cop
Money Train
Lightning Jack
Boat Trip
Broken Arrow

Whoa, whoa, whoa... So I'm reading 10 years of contributions in this thread only 20% of which know what 'cynical' means and didn't just make a list of their favorite movies, and at the end it's been 7 pages of lists and no Dan Waters or Yorgos Lanthimos scripts? Heathers, Dogtooth, even Batman Returns? The Lobster just came out but those others are pretty established.

Not everyone has to mention them but I would've hoped somebody would in 10 years.

The Last American Virgin is a good one that wasn't mentioned.
