Question

There was a scene when the FBI and the snow crew were shovelling their way to Alex's house, they seem to pass a house that looked exactly like the McCallisters' house, is that really the McCallister's house?

during the whole fbi going to the kid's house scene, why the hell did the snow plow have to knock over the minivan? this movie sucks

reply

Maybe because the van was blocking the middle of the street? Duh.

reply

Because it was the minivan that the crooks used to block off the street. How else were the feds going to gain access without moving it?

Everyone, please stay ON TOPIC!!!!!! And no, that cant be the McCallisters mansion.

It's probably just a brick house that looks like the McCallister's house. It couldn't be the McCallister's house because, although Home Alone 3 was filmed in the Chicago area as well as Home Alone 1 and Home Alone 2, Home Alone 3 was filmed in Evanston, where Home Alone 1 and the opening scenes of Home Alone 2 were filmed in Winnetka. The FBI office was PROBABLY in the city of Chicago itself and Chicago's closer to Evanston than Winnetka. Evanston is a North Shore suburb that borders Chicago. Winnetka is also a North Shore suburb but is two suburbs/communities north of Evanston. After going through Evanston, you pass through Wilmette and then comes Winnetka. So there's just no way that the FBI would go by the McCallister's house before reaching the Pruitt's house unless they were located either in a further north suburb, like Highland Park or Waukegan (which I seriously doubt is the case) or if they were coming from Wisconsin (Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, etc.) but again, I seriously doubt that was the case. There are a lot of houses out there that look similar to the McCallister house (known to us in the real world as the "Home Alone House") but not always exactly alike. There's a brick house in Moline, Illinois (in the Quad Cities, about 170 miles west of Chicago) that looks similar but not the same and another one in Buffalo, Iowa (10 miles southwest of Davenport, Iowa or 15 miles west of Moline) that also looks about the same in front but a little bit different in the back of it as this house's back side faces a major county road. If I were to win the lottery or something, I'd try to get the floorplans to the Home Alone house itself in Winnetka and have one built EXACTLY like it!! The Home Alone 3 house (the Pruitt's house) in Evanston is okay but not quite as amusing. I'd still like to see it and all but the McCallster's take top priority in my mind.
