The cops wanted to get to the house to get the kid, but the parents and brother and sister kept stopping him just to know why they wanted to go to the house to get the kid. WHATS WRONG WITH THE PARENTS?????

Cop: hurry, we must get to your house to save the kid
Mom: Wait! Why? Explain it to me
Cop: No time, he maybe in danger
Sister: No, explain it to us, we are not going to save my little brother until you tell us everything
Cop: But... he is in danger
Mom: Why? Lets not rush over there to help him or anything.
Cop: he is in danger!!!
Mom: Thats not the important thing! The important thing is you staying here and telling me why!

Well, I think it wouldn't have been the best solution for the rest of the family to be unaware of what kind of danger Alex is in when they get there? And it only took the FBI agent a moment to explain. And the mother was desperate.
