Just as good as the first two films, in my opinion.

I can't stand fantards of the first two films who simply rip this film to pieces just because it didn't have the McCallisters nor the Wet Bandits (or if you want to stay true of the continuity of the franchise, the Sticky Bandits) in it, which is depressing. I guess the reason why everyone hated this film was because Kevin was a very relative character and Macaulay played it perfectly in both films (though he was a bit of a brat in the first film and became more likable and mature in the second film). But things change and having a new character the same age as Kevin is the only next logical step in the franchise. But besides that, I thought "Home Alone 3" was an enjoyable and surprisingly fresh entry with the new kid, Alex to be less annoying than Kevin in the first film and you get used to him very easily. The terrorists were more complex character-depth wise (their personalities, their backstories etc) and it has an overall likable feeling to the whole film. But please don't get me started with the fourth film....

Personally this movie was just as good as the first two. Better in some ways. The other movies though are crap. 4th and 5th. This one deserves a 10 like the first two because it was made in 1990's, it has that magic still.

While I don't like the kid, I do like the bad guys (they stand original without imitating Pesci and Stern) and the traps. It isn't a clone like the second one was of the first.

I especially like the female terrorist getting screwed over like she did.

I just saw this movie yesterday for the first time. I was so used to seeing Mucaullay Cullkin in the first two movies that the 3rd one I didn't think it would be good without him or the rest of the McCollister family. The 3rd one wasn't that bad the little boy wasn't that annoying he was a cute kid and he wasn't that bad like Kevin. I think Kevin had the best boobey traps sometimes vs. Alex.

Eh, this one just doesn't have it. It's been probably a decade since I've watched this but I remember that it had sort of a claustrophobic vibe to it. When I think about it I'm also reminded of crap like Inspector Gadget(the movie), Baby Geniuses, etc. IIRC the kid was never really alone in the same way that Kevin McAllister was. I don't want to have to rewatch this movie but that's what I believe distinguished this movie (in a negative way) from the first two. Watching Home Alone 1 and 2 as a kid it was badass seeing a kid I could relate to who was on his own. Plus 3 was redundant and they didn't really up the stakes in any way. Home Alone 2 was redundant too, but at least the setting was significantly changed.
