"Expert Psychologists"

Can someone explain to me how these so called "experts" weren't willing to work with Will?

I would think that a person with his behavior would be like a dream for every psychologist to work with? (Even when you're an expert in hypnotherapy (sorry for the bias :x)) But all the psychologists were unwilling to work with Will because of his behavior.

Don't know why this bums me out this much. :(

With the first one, he accused him of being gay, and I'm guessing from the reaction that he was probably right. So that guy doesn't want him around.

With the second, he was totally faking and not taking it seriously.

I think both of these guys were famous, well-regarded men of their field...just like Gerry. And they would not want to waste their time on someone who makes fun of them, or is better at reading THEM than they are HIM.

And mostly, I think it's motivation. You're right; to these guys, Will is just a neat problem to solve, something they can put in a book one day. "How I helped a genius find himself" or some such. Sean was the only one who wanted to help him just to help him. He didn't want anything out of it. He was the only one who truly made it about Will, and not himself.

Whores will have their trinkets.

they didn't realize how special he was. they didnt care to see past his rudeness.

first of all they were doing a favor. they werent even being paid. the first guy even mentions that he has no time for this pro bono cases. he was too busy.

The second guy felt humiliated and felt embarrassed.

Sean took time to see behind Will's cover and he knew his rude behavior was just a cover to protect his feelings. he realized he was a brilliant but lost boy that needed guidance.
