Contrived scene (spoilers)

The scene that makes this movie laughable instead of OK in my opinion is the scene with Quaid on the train plow. It seemed like the penultimate scene was when he threw Glover off the train to his death. Seemed like a good time to wrap it up. Why include the "action-hero" scene with Quaid tightroping the plow blade and diving onto the train at the last second? I didn't see how that had any place in a semi-psychological thriller.

You know, I actually thought that the fighting of Quaid and Glover on the plow blade was kind of ho-hum. Your typical fighting on a fast-moving object and oh-gosh, my feet are hanging and dragging on the ground but my shoes aren't in shreds...but once Quaid threw Glover off and and I had to tightrope it back, I was on the edge of my seat. I actually liked that part and thought it was suspenseful since time was a'ticking. I thought that part worked better in a semi-psychological thriller than the punching part (which seemed very action movie to me). Go figure - different things appeal to different people.

I wanted to see that four ton Batwing get vaporized. Gave me Wood!

The MOST contrived scene, though, was the really long one between the opening and closing credits.
