Sniper rifle
What was that sniper rifle that the master chief was firing? A FAL or a G3? It should have been an M-14, right? Hollywood must think those are not good rifles because they sometimes have wooden stocks or something.

shareQuoted from www.imfdb.org:
Master Chief Urgayle (Viggo Mortensen) uses a Heckler & Koch SR9(T) during the Libyan mission. The SR9(T) in this movie, like all SR9 rifles seen in American films, is actually a HK91 converted to SR9(T) specifications (note that it lacks the forward assist, which is a feature of the factory SR9 variants).
Modified M14s were used as the standard issue sniper rifle for almost 20 years. It was designated the M21. It was a perfectly acceptable sniper rifle in it's day.

I stand corrected, sir.
It's me, Gloria, I left my driver's licence on the table, next to the fruit!
SEALs and other special forces use various weapons and have access to lots of things. for instance sometimes, they go in with AKs so they can use local ammo and it's a rugged weapon. SEALs in Vietnam did use the G3. true, he could have used the M14 or the sniperized varient the M21, but the SRT9 which is derived from HK's famous PSG1 semi-auto sniper rifle is world renowned for it's accuracy, which was based on the G3. there are SRT9's in the US military, though very small amounts. In the movie Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis, they did show the M14.
