Facts About The Movie

Hey, i'm a massive fan of this movie and of Matthew Perry!!! But the problem is they aren't enough facts about this movie, so does anyone know any facts??? because the only one i know is the one on this web site and a few more but they are hardly worth being a fact!!!

Thanks in advance x x x

reply

I'm sorry but the reason why there aren't any facts I assume, is because America is a prejudice country, and they only give good pointers on things with white people ("blonde") haired ones on them.

reply

Yes, I agree that America is a prejudiced country. The proof is evident when you realize that America voted for Fantasia and Ruben as "American Idol". Yes, we are very prejudiced!

reply

i dont know why ppl always try to turn things into racial issues.

reply

Have you ever noticed that white people are the only ones that ever say other people try to make things a racial issue? Lousy. Like there is no racisim in the world.

reply

im not sayin that. im just saying that the reason there arent many facts about this movie has nothing to do with the fact that half the main characters aren't white. meaning, half are.

reply

Probably because only non-white people think everything is about race. It's called a persecution complex, and finding a way to not be responsible for your own problems.

reply

You all are really cracking me up! I am a half white half mexican woman I enjoy this movie because it is hilarious! My husband who is very very white kinda experienced the same culture shock when we got together . This movie is about race but not derogatory. That is kinda the point you big big idiots

reply

Not too sure, but on the radio at the time it came out was a mention of the 'fact' (it was breakfast radio, and a long time ago) that it was based on a true story about how one of the writers married her husband. With artistic licence presumably.

reply

Alex (Matthew Perry's) dad on the movie is really his dad in real life.

reply

Remember the guy with the head phones on in the seat that Alex punches on his way from Mexico back to Las Vegas? Well, that guy is the producer of the movie (his wife was the assistant producer), I think Drazin is his last name. The story is based on him and his wife's courtship.

reply

Wow, that is a FACT! Thanks for the awesome FACT! We need more FACTS.
Here's a FACT: chickens can not fly. It's a FACT!

Funny thing is that most people won't get that joke! I raise chickens and you would not believe how many people in my city think they can't fly, that you need a rooster to get an egg, etc. Hehehe...city people! :)

reply

Almost. I am in the airplane scene ..window seat. Not with the head phones on. Thanks.

Is the Mexican comedy El Inocente and its remake Romeo Contra Julieta referenced in Fools Rush In?

)Fools Rush In and RCJ have a sexy middle aged woman crossing her legs.
)In EI and RCJ, Mane and Cruzi get drunk and fall asleep in the same bed. Mane's parents think Cruzi raped her, but he's innocent. Cruzi has to marry Mane to save the family's good reputation(a "shotgun wedding"). In Fools Rush In, Perry and Hayek's characters do have sex and concieve a baby after getting drunk.
)Cruzi is a working class mechanic and Mane is a rich girl. Perry's character is a WASP and Hayek's is a Latina.
)Alberto Vasquez plays Cruzi in RCJ. Vasquez looks a bit like Elvis Presley.
In FRI, there's an Elvis impersonator.

It could be that there aren't a lot of facts because this movie is almost 10 years old and it wasn't a major blockbuster with tons of well known actors...but of course it has to be about race...but what do i know...i'm just white, so I must be racist

Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek actually dated in real life after production of the movie.
