The Death Sentence... How many agree?

I actually enjoyed this movie- as corny as some of it was. The 1st BIG reason to dislike it was the blasphemy (Jesus Christ's name twice); but when Isabel lied to Alex by telling him the baby died, it was bad enough... & then when Alex learned that she was lying about their baby dying, yet not being even upset about that, I thought that was just too much!!!

Who agrees?!?

I don't think anyone these days cares about using Jesus Christ. Not in this day and age, unless you are a nun or a fanatical religious extremist. Most people use Jesus Christ, its really no big deal at all and not even anywhere near a reason against it.

Isabel lied to Alex about the baby dying because she thought it was the best thing to do to give Alex his life back. There was no 'Death Sentence' in this movie. No one was sentenced to die by a court.

And if you watched the movie you would have seen Alex VERY upset that she lied to him, so I don't understand your point there, either. So no, I disagree on all 3 points.

A truly ignorant and thoughtless thing to say. Obviously, there ARE people who care about it...even if you and others like you do not. You don't have to be a "nun or a fanatical religious extremist" to be offended by hearing Jesus' name taken in vain. It's a violation of the Commandments, disrespectful both to the Lord and devout Catholics, and it is a big deal.

It's a big deal to those that believe in Christianity. For those that don't, it doesn't matter. Since only about 1/3 of the world is Christian, I'd say it's safe to say that most people don't care.

BTW, the only reason the number of Christians is that high is because of the Crusades, where people were forced to convert or be murdered. Doesn't say a whole lot for the religion...

LOL Even if you were right that "only about 1/3 of the world is Christian," that's 1/3 of 6 BILLION people. That means that 2 BILLION people are Christian. That's a LOT of people. On a side note: If you don't believe that people should be offended by Jesus Christ's name used in vain, then why don't you, who seem to have such a small vocabulary that you can't find other ways of expressing yourself without cursing, visit the Middle East and do something offensive to Muslims? Let's see what that gets you.

And you are completely false about why there are so many Christians today. No one threatened ME into believing. I have my faith because I've seen what God has done in my life and the life of my family. I believe because I know it to be true. No one held a gun to my head. Those who don't believe are so set against those who do that they don't even realize their hatred towards Christians has become their own religion.

Just as you feel there is nothing wrong with using Jesus Christ's name in vain...that conviction you have for that right, is the SAME conviction Christians have in finding it offensive. Trying being a tad bit more open minded.
