anyone watch this again and again?

I must confess that I love this movie. I don't watch it as much as I used to but I remember when I was in high school me and my mom would watch it almost every other weekend. I had most of the movie dialogue memorized. How sad is that lol? So any other people out there watch this movie a lot?

I don't want to be a vampire. I'm a *day* person.

This is one of my favorite movies, in fact I just watched it on HBO HD and thats why Im here. Like many other people, I just love the chemistry that Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek have. I think while this is more romatic/comedy, Matthew Perry is funny. There are several lines from the movie that I love, "My water just broke. But, were on a dam." "Lucy, you got some explaining to do."

But I think the best thing about the movie is, that love can conquer all.

yes. it's one of my favorites.

I'm not sure about back to back, but for sure I watch this at least 4-5 times a year, easily. Maybe more.

I think because EVERYBODY shares the load in this movie. The parents are equally as funny as the two leads. Plus the 'problem' is very relatable.

"You call this culture: guacamole and a ghetto blaster!!?"

"The white people are melting!!"

"See, this is the kind of conversation that usually happens on a second date".

I'm on trial for being afraid?
Well first, I don't like the word 'trial'; and secondly, yes.

It's one of my favorite movies. I'm actually watching it right now.

It's like a cow's opinion, it doesn't matter.

Me too, right now.

I"m with you. It's on TV again right now. I own the DVD but still tune it in when it comes on. I have no idea how many times I've watched it but 50 would be a conservative estimate.

I'm a hopeless romantic, I tear up several times during the movie.

When Alex sees the signs in NY, especially the little girl named Isabel at the heliport.

When Alex meets the great grandmother

When the baby is born

And finally, the wedding at Grand Canyon when the movie ends.

reply

Yep, they all get me.

Especially Isabel at the airport (whose mother or guardian is NOT Mexican; a sign within a sign!)

This movie was really crafted well; it is NOT a throwaway - an impression I think the title gives.

I especially like how they are 'connected' especially when they are apart:
The scene in Perry's office when he slams his hand down on the spinning ring.
The very next scene is Isabel waking up to thunder.

I also like how Perry's 'confused' mother and 'all-knowing' father have their roles reversed in their last camera shot.

There's a word for people who think everyone is conspiring against them.
That's right: perceptive!

Geez! You are right, I never thought of that. I had to run the movie in my head a bit to come up with the scene, but on the helicopter the dad is like huh? and the mom knowingly blows a kiss to Alex.

reply

YES. Haha oh my goodness. I can never get tired of this movie. I've seen it so many times. My brother and mom make fun of me because every time I come home to visit and it's on TV, I watch it. Just today the Blockbuster in my hometown was closing and selling all their DVDs for 5 bucks. My mom and bro were looking through the ones I'd bought and when they saw Fools Rush In they both groaned. But I don't care, it's one of my favorite movies ever! They don't make rom-coms like this anymore! Whoever said this is the 90s version of Knocked Up is totally wrong, this is so much better!

happyphantom - don't worry! When they grow up they'll love it too!

It is really a fun movie

I watch it as least twice a year. My VHS copy is getting worn out. Will have to purchase on DVD.

- C'mon back to my room and I'll give you a Rusty Venture.

reply

I have just watched it on TV.. and I do not think I will watch it again, even though it is not a bad movie.

reply

If you have DirecTV, you HAVE to watch it again and again.

But it is a great Friday taco-and-Pepsi night movie.
