16 PLATES? REALLY?

In the early Mexican cafe scene, Alex's table is set with 16 plates loaded with all different kinds of dishes. What's that all about? Or do we see here extreme use of the "sampler" concept?

Well I see this two ways. 1.He could be having a business meeting and he could be taking clients out to dinner. 2. The restaurant could be family style where you just sit at a table with everyone.

He was writing stuff down. I assume he was sampling food for the new club?

That was the impression I got. He didn't eat much off of any of them.

I figured he didn't know the dishes and couldn't decide....so he ordered everything.
