Choose to try to shoot Adam? He had a clear shot on Archer but instead chose to shoot Adam, that is until Dietrich got in the way. I mean it would seem like killing Archer would be a higher priority.

shareOnly thing I can think of is he knew where Archer was and thus could avoid being shot by him once he blew his cover by shooting, and the only way he could draw Dietrich out was to shoot his sister and the kid. It doesn't make too much sense but it's something.
