Wedding band
Donnie Brasco sure was brash to wear his wedding band at all times. How could something like that go unnoticed?

He was wearing what looked like a decorative ring (like a Claddaugh ring) which could have been taken as a gift from his probably Irish "girlfriend in California" whom we never saw him with (obviously).
There was a close up at the end of the film of his left hand when he was once again Joe Pistone and the ring looked like a different one with green stones like emeralds in it.
It was a close up so I think we were supposed to see the ring and make the deduction that it was a different ring--his wedding ring--from the one he wore as a mobster.....
I think that type of ring's in the book too.
