Why was lefty mad at Donnie?

When Donnie arranges the boat and lefty seems surprised that the Florida boss is just there to meet Sonny Black, why is Lefty mad at Donnie?

Did Donnie tell Sonny Black about the boat and the meeting with the Florida boss? And how did Sonny Black know about the Kings Court Nightclub?

It was my take that Sonny wasn't invited on the outing though found out about it, talked to Trafficante and took credit for the entertainment. Lefty assumes Donny told Sonny about the plans and is angry.

I don't think Donnie told Sonny, he was too loyal to Lefty and in fact liked the guy (in the film.) Sonny likely found out on his own about the meeting and also about the nightclub though it was not really explained in the film as I recall.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

My take was that whether Sony Black knew or not Trafficante called Sonny Red and was told to invite Sonny B down to set him up to fail. Since Lefty has no clue about this arrangement he assumes it was Donnie.

Precisely, Mikey. It was definitely explained in the movie. Sonny Red and Trafficante were both in on the bust up at the King's Court. That's how Sonny Black found out.
Lefty thought that him and Donnie were going to have the club for themselves and deal with the Florida mobsters on their own to impress the boss out there.
Trafficante most likely didn't want other mobsters on his turf and arranged for the bust up with Sonny Red, who wanted to take out Sonny Black.
It's pretty much implied that Sonny Black was told by Sonny Red what was happening under his nose in regards to Lefty and Donnie.
Can't get that past the boss of your mob unit. The odd part is that Sonny Black wasn't mad at Leftie and Donnie for not directly telling him about the meeting.
They did know that one of their crew members was dealing coke under their noses and Lefty said he could have been whacked for that alone.
That's the thing with this movie. 6 years of undercover work in 2 hours is tough.
Although I did appreciate that it didnt try to be a Scorsese knock off and was its own mob movie, narration could have helped explain things in a lot more detail.
But with narration, it would have been a completely different movie. I can't really say if it would have made it better but it definitely would have explained things a lot more.
That's something that always helps Scorsese's mob movies be easier to understand when he covers such large stretches of time.
