I'm sorry, Richard
In September 1998, myself and a buddy went to the Sebel Townhouse in Potts Point, Sydney. It was ARIA awards night, and the after-party was to be held there.
Richard O'brien was among the early bar-flies in attendance. They'd just wrapped major scenes for this film, and he was (I believe) coming to terms with it.
We had a good laugh. We jammed out on the piano in the foyer, singing old songs including some Rocky Horror... The poor guy seemed crushed that his career had come to this; working for Rupert Murdoch at a two-bit sudio in Sydney, of all places.
All was fine once Molly and the other music biz types arrived. As you said, it's just a f---ing *beep* movie.
Thanks for the laughs, Richard!
