Mr. Hand was strangely likable


Even though he's the most aggressive of the strangers, he seems more like a tragic figure than a true villain, only acting as a killer because of the memories that were imprinted onto him. And in the end, he was not afraid of dying to help his own species. It also helps that the actor playing him was easily the best between the ones who played the Strangers.

Since he had a major role and many lines, they may have cast someone who was sympathetic for the audience. I also recall from one of the commentaries, that the strangers weren't really bad, they just had a strange and difficult task.

Sounds similar to a video I watched on Youtube about Hitler (vs the Jewish World Order). Even if Hitler wanted peace, and was against communism, I have no sympathy for him.
