Why it doesn't matter about the people, only the dog

The only thing that matters about this movie is that the dog gets out alive. People can die and we can just make a million more at the same time so whats the point in them living? But the dog, well, dogs are harder to reproduce and they are so much better than any human by far. Contradict me all you like but the dog is worth so much more than any human

How are dogs harder to reproduce?

The OP was trying to be ironical, or else was just trolling.
Either way, I'd say it wasn't meant to be taken literally, Sam.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

I assume he's spent considerable time & energy trying to get his dog pregnant, without success. I just hope the animal welfare people never get to hear about it...

Dogs are awesome. People are not :)

Dogs are killed in movies less often than people. It's not something audiences seem to want.

I remember Tom Hanks on some talk show, either Johnny Carson or Letterman, advising "Don't kill the dog" in reference to his experience with Turner and Hooch. The trivia for TAH supports that: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098536/trivia

Other movies I know of where a dog is killed: Terminator 2 and Moonrise Kingdom. Both of those well received however.

"Was he a good dog?"

"Who can say? But he didn't deserve to die."

Also "Tyrannosaur" by Paddy Considine.

And "Something About Mary" I guess...
