This film otherwise known as "James bond vs the volcano" is fun to watch, easily better than the moronic but still enjoyable Volcano but did anyone really feel much sympathy for the deaths of the Grandma Ruth and Harry's boss Paul?

The old lady was saying something like - "The mountain would never hurt us" after she causes everyone to drive up the mountain after her and then they waste time packing her belongings and she thinks its a perfect time to take a stroll down memory lane. Why the hell did she jump out of the boat when they were already at the pier? And instead walking straight ahead to safety she decides to go the long way round, writing in agony...idiot.

And Paul - His colleagues just stand there with these "what an idiot" looks on there faces when all he has to do is jump 30cms toward them and he just clings to the bridge frozen for a good 10 seconds as it topples over - cue willhelm scream for an added comedic effect. Classic.

Oh and Linda Hamilton's character - That look she gives Brosnan when he first enters her store, she so burnt him with hot coffee on purpose the spiteful little minx...

i felt sorry for old grandma... she was stupid indeed, but just as i liked/hated the mayor from jaws, she got my little tear when that happend. also, she lost her house... "my, my, this is beatiful..." -pierce @ dante's peak- ;)

It's not a death but did anyone else smile when the army turned up to rescue everyone carrying assault rifles lol what were they gonna do empty a few clips into the side of a volcano.

I guess the guns were to prevent looting b/c no matter how bad things get (end of the world) there are always a few heathens who will try to steal TVs, DVD players, Cameras, laptops, etc. The world could be ending within 36 hours but they're going to get theirs! You know what I mean...you see them on TV all the time.

Yeah Paul's death was goofy. He just stands there like he has NO chance of surviving when he could probably have made it over the river. He deserved to die. I love how the bridge goes belly up with him on it! lmao!

I suppose they had to kill off Paul for dramatic effect. The smart thing to do would be to put Paul's van ahead of the Humvees because the Humvees can use 4WD and more power to get off of the bridge after Paul. I also suspect in real life that no military escort would traverse any dangerous ground until verifying that it was a) safe to proceed and b) all civilians had safely crossed.

i laughed my butt off when grandma died! Stupid, crazy woman got everybody to risk their life´s because the mountain would never hurt her! I was actualy screaming for them to throw her overboard because of the weight to the boat. And then when she finally gets out she takes her sweet time to get out of the acid after pulling the boat! She goes the long away around to the peer! What an imbecil!

And that fat pig, Paul was funny too! Fat bastard couldnt get out of the car and jump to the other side of the bridge! Oh no!

And the greedy heli pilot and the bald dude who was against evacuating the town, hahahah suck it bastards!!!!!
