I don't care if 20 000 people died, but as long as the dog lived, it was the happy ending for a good family movie.

Yeah, and I am glad the dog lived in Independence Day and Twister, and I am glad the cat lived in Alien.

I just hate that John Wayne's dog had to die in Big Jake. I always hated Richard Boone for killing that dog. To this day, I cannot watch ANY movie with Richard Boone in it, although he was a very good actor.
