I listened in for the first 5 minutes and basically discovered 3 haters of the movie and didn't care to waste my time listening to anything further, let alone 3+ hours of that junk, plain and simple. The woman sounds like a total idiot, the other guy a blatant hater and the host basically an idiot with a microphone, and I hope by some means he somehow sees this...
Lets face it movies are subjective, there are people out there who hate some of the most highly rated movies of all time, does that make them right? There have been a few high ranked movies which I have not liked, does that make me right? Hell no, movies are for entertainment purposes mainly, yet in a few occasions such as Contact I feel they are also meant to challenge our minds to reach or strive for something more and in that aspect I feel this movie totally hit the mark. If there was ever a child or someone who wanted to believe in something more far as ET or outer space, this is by far the most realistic movie I can think of to inspire that. For those haters out there, give me something better or more realistic???
Bottom line, this movie has a 7.4 rating on IMDB which is a solid rating, I loved the movie personally and consider it to be one of the most realistic and plausible ET / space travel movies ever made considering the enormous fact that the technological superiority it would take for aliens to visit here would 100% ensure our annihilation (sorry War of the Worlds or Independence day part 1 and part 2 which I'm definitely going to see soon and can't wait!!!), and the whole "Star Trek" exploration idea that we could one day visit other worlds / galaxies is but a pipe dream and if at all possible way into the future. Granted I really hope I’m proven wrong and get to see it in my lifetime but am not holding my breath.
I love Sci-Fi movies of any flavor, but I have to say far as realism and believability, this is by far the most believable movie I’ve ever watched far as us encountering aliens and lived to tell the tale, again I challenge anyone to provide something more plausible.
