So I just found out that Alfred Molina is British, so my mind is even more blown by this scene.
The acting in this sequence is insanely good.
And, I’m not sure if it’s ironic or simply fortuitous that this sequence features Mark Wahlberg giving maybe/arguably his finest screen moment when he thought they were in between takes. That burnt out look and faint smile just works so damn perfectly in the moment, whether it was consciously performed or not.
Thomas Jane was also wonderfully manic and at the top of his game here.
