Was the Star Wars reference with the TK-421 sound system supposed to be as obvious as it is in the movie or did PTA think only diehard Star Wars fans would notice?

I have to agree with blue1981. Only die hard Star Wars fans would get that reference to a stormtrooper from a New Hope.
