2046

Todays trivia question on the home page - says the room number in this film is 2046, which makes sense when you think about it...

Why does it make sense when you think about it?

Havent seen this film - but I suspect it might have been a mistake and they got this page confused with Kar Wai Wong's other film, 2046?

That's what I thought the link was going to lead to, but its a different film. :S

The trivia page for this one says:

"The number of the hotel room where Chow stays is 2046, which is the director's next feature length film."

So I guess it makes sense just because it's a number he uses frequently?

"The kitchen is no place for a live horse!"

Ah, that makes sense!

2046 is supposed to be pronounced "to owe for sex" so that could be what it meant. It makes more sense if you've seen the film.

Minor spoiler re: 2046

The significance is that the film *2046* is a kind of sequel--at least Tony Leung's character is the same. I didn't know the characters were the same until the end of *2046*. It was a delightful surprise.

because that is the sequel :) 2046. Tony writes a "sci-fi" serial about the future (the year 2046), a time that people travel to to have their dreams & wishes fulfilled, just as he rented that room... 2046.
