Dr. Evil is the funniest character ever created for a movie. I just watched the first movie, and I was in hysterics for every Dr. Evil scene. Austin has his moments, too, but Dr. Evil was brilliantly hilarious.

Some of Dr. Evil's mannerisms are supposedly based on SNL producer Lorne Michaels'. I wasn't sure about this until a few years after the first AP movie, I saw a special about the history of SNL and Michaels was being interviewed. When he answered a question with "Riiiiiiiiiight," I figured it must be true. :)
I agree, one of if not the funniest character ever, we have to start mentioning some scenes, honestly, myers' acting is sheer BRILLIANT as dr evil, like you have to REALLY look at it and remember, this is tough to do lol

Another scene... i mean... god .. when all the villains are laughing, and then it goes on too long like.. "what now..?" .. man..it KILLS me every single time
And of course, when he and scott are in group therapy, L O L : "actually the boy's quite astute, I really am trying to kill him ..but uh...so far..unsuccesfully...hes...quite wily just like his old man (shows how proud he is, then QUICKLY switches back to evil LOL)" , Imagine the second right after saying that, he and seth green must of bursted out laughing lol
