and it's also rather strange how amateurish like the opening scene is with the crooks so obviously falling aside of the chairs and not going through the floor, i've seen napier funny in other movies but somehow his role don't work right here, the scene with the fembots as well as powers having to explain the room later to vanessa is one of the most hilarious parts of the movie, the second of these austin powers movies is probably the one i liked best, it's a bit of a downer what a small part hurley has in that though, but the third movie is definitely the one i like least, the new role goldmember is just weird and not funny. somehow this movie does not feel decades old, and the diana prince charles divorce comment seem to suggest it was filmed even before 1997. notice the hairstyle of michael york being the same i think he had in 1970's logan's run, by the way, did you know the story of that movie was what rod serling wanted as a pilot to the twilight zone series. austin power's first girl, who later turns out to be the mother of vanessa (hurley), wasn't she much more appealing? she was real sweet with austin and the movie's lead vanessa comes off as quite mature and uptight and won't give powers a break, until out of nowhere she loosens up, i realise that is a part of the story, but the difference in attitudes makes you feel it's a loss. what an incredible neat bus they were spending the night on, the moviemakers always seem to enjoy putting hurley in different costumes, i think she started off as a model, she doesn't do much in this but she really gives the performance of her career in bedazzled.

you got a hard look on life,
open your mind,
all perchance come on look around,
denying whats truth and right,
there are monkeys all over,
but i wouldnt call you a monkey, brother,
tell me another one i used to be like you are now,
breaks my heart wish i could open your eye.
