The interesting parallels between this and Pocahontas
Both are major 90s animated films based loosely on actual historical events and personages. However, while 'Pocahontas' was the less well received of the two at the time of its release, 'Anastasia' seems to be the one more disliked nowadays among a lot of internet circles.
Maybe because Disney has given 'Pocahontas' more of an afterlife compared to 'Anastasia', maybe it's the former having the more famous soundtrack (Colors of The Wind is still one of the most well known Disney songs from the Renaissance), maybe it's down to how much faster Bluth went downhill than Disney, and maybe it's due to 'Anastasia's history being more recent than, well, the colonization of America.
