Why no Oscar Nomination
John Voight delivered the performance of a lifetime. Worthy of an Oscar in my opinion.

John Voight gave a performance that rivals any past best actor nomination!

So I take it I'm not alone in thinking that he looked perpetually constipated. As if something really bad was happening "down there" but he was trying to hide it with "I'm a really tough guy" facial expressions.
shareHaha, yes, massive constipated face. Why cant I look away from this movie? Its like a train wreck.
shareRoger Ebert seemed to think so too. He gave the movie a thumbs up. In his review he mentioned in all seriousness that Voight should have been nominated for it, but of course he wasn't, because the Academy looks past things like this.
