Questions...
Love the movie, but after watching it for the first time in years, (like, since elementary school) I noticed a few things that didn't quite jive with me.
1. The group keeps getting lost. After they finally knock Serone out, why not just turn the damn boat around and head back the way they came? They should go back out toward the barrier that they blew up, and just keep going back until they're on the route that they're familiar with, and then head back toward civilization. Instead, they appear to keep turning up in places they seem to be awed and surprised by, (the water fall where Westridge is killed, the abandoned mill at the very end.)
2. How is Danny Trejo's boat beyond the barrier? He gets killed in the opening of the film. Later, the crew has to blow up the barrier to continue on their way, and yet somehow they manage to find Trejo's boat. How could he have gotten beyond the barrier?
3. Why did Serone need their boat in the first place? Why not just use his own boat? Terri says that this whole thing was a trick. She mentions Mateo being in on it, and Serone's "disabled boat" being a part of it.
4. Danny says they'll "trap the snake in the smoke stack!" How? Before they decide to blow it up, Terri says she'll lure it into the stack, and Danny agrees. But, even if she managed to get to the top of the stack, get out and slam the cage down in the snake's face, what would stop it from just turning around and coming back out the bottom after Danny? I saw nothing there, like a door at the bottom, that would keep it trapped inside. Unless he planned on just trying to keep its tail pinned to the floor with the pickaxe. If they hadn't found a way to blow it up in the process of this "trapping" plan, I don't think it would have ended well for either of them.
5. Was Serone aware of the second snake, or was it just a happy coincidence for him that they ended up at the mill? The mill obviously being the second snake's lair.
