Are there two snakes?

Don't they blow the face off of one snake when the girl and host die? Why is the face fine in the next scene? Are there two?

reply

The first snake was the one killed by the gunshots to the face. The second, that first appeared when Danny & Terri were tied up was the larger, darker, mother snake.

People tend to think there was only one snake, even Phelous from TGWTG did in his (brilliant and funny) review: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/teamt/phelous/27918-phelou s-anaconda

But there were two, at least. The one near the end is clearly bigger (probably a female), its colors are different and of course its brain isn't blown out :)

If the movie tried to be a bit realistic (bwahaha!), there should have been at least five different adult snakes, all of them getting into deep sleep, or at least a passive, lazy digesting period for days or weeks after eating someone. Of course, it could be that one particular snake did the Voight-puking maneuver over and over again with the panther, Mateo and Owen Wilson before meeting his fate :)

Phelous covered this?

I've always wanted The Nostalgia Critic to do it. It's a summer blockbuster from the last '90s, it seems right up his alley. I still hope he reviews it, but it looks like I'll have to be waiting even more for this if it ever happens.

Yup, Phelous' next review will be Hunt for the Blood Orchid, he may do the whole franchise

But Critic could still do Anaconda, as he did with Jaws 3-D and the Room, two movies that have been reviewed by others not long before his videos.

Before meeting HER fate, only female 'condas can get big enough to even remotely have the chance of eating an adult human

Actually, the snake that killed the Panther happened way before Mateo and Gary's deaths. They hadn't even reached the wall at that point.

I think that was meant to be a different Anaconda.

There were 2 snakes????

WTF??????????????????

LOOOOOOOOOL

I've seen this movie and I NEVER noticed that
I just assumed the snake was so big so it didn't feel it

Wait, so wtf happened?
Which was the first snake? And when does the mother snake come?

Wow this just more mind *beep*

Was the first snake got shot and then Sarone was like "You killed my warrior snake!"

Wtf....this is confusing

The snake that did all the killing was a male warrior snake. This snake gets shot and killed. The snake that appears when Sarone ties Jennifer and Ice Cube up is the Female Snake- Notice that the snake is much bigger and a different color.

reply

I always assumed there were more than two snakes.

It's quite clear the smaller snake gets killed when it's shot in the head.
If it didn't care, why would it just passively lay in the water after getting shot in the face? Because it was dead.

What clichés? Thats a word the wannabe critics use when they want to whinge.

reply

They didn't stick to the formula for this one.
Movie one Single creature
Movie two Multiple creatures or bigger relative (think alien)
Movie three (whatever script Hollywood thinks they can get away with)
Anaconda couldn't even get the title right!
They should have called it "anaconda?"
The relative size of the snakes seemed to change from one second to the next

reply

There are TWO snakes in this film- a mating pair- hence the babies that are shown.

reply

Also keep in mind how upset Jon Voight was that J.LO killed his "Warrior Snake", if there were more, he would not have been soo upset- especially with 5 more running around. He knew what was in those waters and all about the area.

reply

I believe there were 7 in total.

reply

^If there were seven, and only 2 were killed- that leaves 5 still alive and killing. which dose not add up because the tribe the crew went looking for was in hiding because of the snakes and now came out because the danger was gone, that and if there were still some alive, the plot for the second film would not be needed, they would just have to go back to the same place. Also, since the three leads survived it is unlikely there are any more living as they most likely would have been prayed upon at some point. There were only 2, it was made pretty clear in the film. All the snake attacks we saw were done by one snake- the male. The mother did not make her appearance till the two leads ended up in their nest.

Yeah it was a joke. But thanks for reminding me of that post i just had another laugh.
