Oh....my.....God

I saw this on tv a couple of days ago. OMG. Could this possibly be the worst movie ever made? If I hadn't seen The Fountain, I'd say so.

How is it possible that Jon Voight, Jennifer Lopez, Eric Stolz, and Owen Wilson were all, at the same time, so desperate for money that they agreed to be in this film? They must be really good actors to act scared in the face of this nothingness, and to keep up a good face, when they surely knew this movie would be a total bomb.

Watch it if you must. Maybe you'll get a laugh out of the snake(s).

I thought it was hilarious in a good way. In was silly over-the-top fun that didn't take itself seriously.

They don't make films like they used to.

Everything has to be grim, serious and bleak.
Even the last Snow White film was dull, dark, and uninspired.

Owen Wilson wasn't a big name at the time, Jennifer Lopez was just trying at the point of trying to establish her film career (which really went nowhere) and Jon Voight was having fun.

I actually think this is one of Voight's most interesting performances and certainly a very colorful and hilarious character he created.

Lopez, Wilson, and even Stoltz weren't in a position to turn their nose up to a potential blockbuster with their names on it.

Exactly, and that's the fun of it.
That and Jon Voight.

I agree and it did feature a good Jon Voight performance that kind of underpinned the whole film. Funny seeing a youngish Owen Wilson in a (meant to be) serious role.

I don't think it was made for funsies. I think that it was made as a serious movie. It just turned out to be so bad that some think it's campy-funny. I don't think it's good enough to be campy-funny.

That movie with Kevin Bacon about the worms that travel under the ground...what's the name of that movie? A very good movie that WAS made to be funny.

It is hilarious. The snake's shrieking sounds exactly like an angry woman, cracks me up every time.

Not even close to "The Worst Movie Ever Made".

reply

Not even close, movies like "The Room" and "Birdemic" takes the cake, and this movie is like Shawshank Redemption in comparison.

Oh, and "The Fountain" is a great movie.

I'm not sure if Jennifer Lopez cared much about establishing her film career, what she really wanted to do was dance and music. She started out acting in movies because she knew how hard it is to break into the music business without any connections within the industry or public exposure. You could probably say the same thing about Ice Cube. Sadly, the music career of Eric Stoltz never took off.
