That doesn't really make sense, does it?
You must not have paid attention to archaeologists who use a shovel all day, every day, for months on end. ;-)

We're getting into silly season here, so:
a) we don't really know much about Daniel's career before everyone walked out of his presentation and Catherine recruited him
b) he spends most of his life in an underground facility and the field, maybe he works out
c) remember the suitcase full of books that got spilled on Abydos? I've lugged books around for my wife on vacation (or did until we got Kindles!). Those things are exercise! LOL
Fair enough. As for Jack, I doubt you need that many muscles to operate a firearm, anyway.
