Binge Worthy?

Is this show a good Binge Worthy? I'm looking for a new show and this looks good. I loved the sopranos, the shield, breaking bad and true detective. The Wire was very good and will come back for season 4 soon. Letting it sink in. So is this show interesting enough to grab attentions. I want a gripping story. Other recommendations would be appertiated too.

Yes, It's great. I like how they have so much going on in the same locations. I just finished it yesterday.

In all honesty this show might be the greatest show of all time. Its all subjective, but there is enough brilliance here that you could make a case for it.

reply

No matter how brilliant a TV show may seem, it does not go beyond the human bias and is therefore always subjective.

reply

Most definitely! I did and it was amazing.

Absolutely

I saw it years ago and saw Christopher Meloni plugging a movie the other day and remembered that I liked him in this (besides Law and Order) and thought that I'd give it another watch. Yes, worthy of a viewing.

Definitely binge worthy. There are a lot of characters and story lines, all interwoven. The approach that is somewhat unique is to have the narrator tell you something about each episode's story line, sometimes with some foreshadowing of things to come. The narrator is also one of the prisoners. Acting is excellent. Story lines can be a bit rough, so be aware.

Great show but very dark. No hope or light in any of these characters. None. You won't feel good about humanity after watching this show. It's brutal.

It's a little inconsistent from season to season, some plotlines are cut off or trail off in different directions out of the blue, but overall well worth watching! It could be telecast as first run today and still be topical believe it or not! It was the forefather to the cable dramas that came later like "The Wire, The Sopranos," etc.! ;-)

I have done it and still sometimes do but after so many, I find I can only take a season or two at a time before I find myself feeling like I need to take a shower...and then being kinda scared to.

I have waited years to get passed season three and now I am watching the series from the start. By the time I got to season 5, where I am now, I am exhausted and actually taking a few days off.

The show has some high points, mainly during the first three seasons and then nose dives into the ridiculous. Almost every main/ interesting character is either killed off by season 4 or is relegated to the background in favor of far less interesting characters.

The show seems confused and aimless. It goes no where. How many inmates do we really need to see shanked before we have had enough. And the murders you see coming from a mile away. There is literally a character that says, "its so good to be alive. I am so glad to be alive." and then he gets murdered. That is horrible writing.

Overall though it is far more interesting than most other shows. It did start the cable tv drama revolution but it is a great show hidden within a lot of wandering.
