I have had a King of the Hill movie in my mind for years,but soon the actors will be too old! Will Ferrell has Hank,(Playing it straight), John C. Reilly as Bill, Neil Patrick Harris as Dale...Still thinking about the rest. Maybe Owen Wilson as Boomhauer.
Tim Conway would be great as Cotton. Since Cotton has no shins, Tim could do his "Dorf" routine. He is probably too old now.
I always imagined Ferrell as Boomhauer with Billy Bob Thornton as Hank. Considering that most WW II vets are now in their nineties, Conway wouldn't be too old. I was sort of thinking Dustin Hoffman as Cotton.

I'd just have Stephen Root play Bill and maybe some of the others in the voice cast play their characters. I'd cast Matthew McConaughey as Boomhauer, and just thought of Norm McDonald for Dale.

I personally wouldn't mind it if Fox ever revives the show. Just write out Luanne or recast Pink ias Luanne since she replaced Brittany Murphy in Happy Feet 2.

I've had the hardest time with Hank. I think your Ferrel playing it straight idea may work pretty well. Possibly Vince Vaughn. Maybe Neil Flynn (Mike from The Middle). Maybe Luke Wilson. I actually like that idea as I think about it.
I also don't know any Laotian actors, so I guess Ken Jeong, though of Korean descent, for Kahn would work.
I like Robert Duvall for Cotton.

Perry was playing a small-town dad on Riverdale. Role would have been perfect for him. Shame too. I would have loved that. No idea now. Not sure I'd go and see it
