Running gag about Maya..,

... Being a Puerto Rican!

Anyone else love it? In one of the early episodes, her neighbour answers the phone at Maya's and says, 'I'm at the Puerto Rican girl's apartment', then during the murder mystery episode, her irritable old man neighbour tells her to go back to Puerto Rico.

I also noticed that when Nina mentions Maya to one of her boyfriends, he says, 'You mean that little Puerto Rican girl from work?'

Haha and another one, when there's the elaborate practical joke between Maya and Finch, Maya and Elliot go to the INS (with Steve Carell)

Steve - And what is your name?
Maya - Maya Gallow
Steve - (typing) Are you by any chance Maya Gallow, the Colombian drug lord???
Maya - ...no

Haha I totally forgot that was Steve Carell. And they get her ankle tagged, and then have a guy pretend to chat her up in the elevator before the tag beeps and scares him off.

IIRC correctly, even THAT is part of Finch's joke, and the guy is an actor he'd hired!

YES! Now I remember! And then then guy came mincing in from the elevator, took a big, theatrical bow and danced off again! LOL!

Some of Maya's best scenes are when she reveals dark, weird or jsut plain neurotic things about herself. I loev any of those inadvertent references she makes to her geeky life in college, or the kookiness she reveals when she starts dating Elliot (We're gonna blow their minds! I'll be in work when I'm meant to be on holiday - I'm gonna blow their minds! ... One mind blown!). I even love the little silly moments, like when Elliot tells her she has a big head after she criticises him, and she MEASURES it, and hits out at the end of a sentence with, '... and my head is 22 inches around which is completely normal for someone of my body type!'. MAYA ROCKS!

Oh, and by the way - next year, you can all get tofurkey!

Haha I love the Puerto Rican jokes, like the old man in the murder mystery episode saying 'Maya, you're a nasty girl, why don't you go back to Puerto Rico?' or something like that haha! I also like the running joke in late s3 early s4 that Maya was in love with Finch and Adrienne gets jealous lol!

Another running gag was all the boob jokes... I'm guessing it went on a lot more during rehearsals between the actors LOL
