Well, they lived in Marin County, one of the most expensive places in Northern California so they must have had some source of (a lot of) income.....most of the *hippies* that live there now are old and rich...the poorer hippies have moved north to Sonoma and Mendocino Counties.
sharei just assumed they were retired from what ever they did work at( i assumed they were late 50s or early 60s mitch ryan looks young but not that young), but im sure it was some sort of anti something organization, most likely non profit, regardless , they are hilarious, in one episode (maybe more) it does mention that they use solar panels to heat their home and provide hot water, ... although it doesnt get that hot according to Larry. They built their home themselves hahah , larry probably doesnt remember, they raised a wonderful daughter Dharma, larry doesnt remember, and theyre probably the best parents anyone could ever ask for, theyre freaking hilarious also, i cant believe mimi kennedy didnt win some sort of award she is simply brilliant on the show, Gibson is by far the weakest link and Alan Rachins
