why set in Massachusetts?

Aside from one or two forced-snow episodes per season, it seemed so obvious that it was further down the coast. And I'm from the Midwest. Just seems like it'd have been easier to say it was where it was and call it a day. Especially when you'd get minor characters with slight southern accents.

The show was set in the Fictional town of Capeside, NC. The college years were in Boston.

Capeside was a fictional town in Cape Cod.

The show was filmed in Wilmington, NC. Same place as where One Tree Hill was made.

Which is true, but doesn't change the fact that Capeside is on Cape Cod.

Maybe they did it to have it make more sense for Jen to be there from NY and for them to have easy access to Boston.
