Two to Go: Why waste so much of themselves protecting Danny and Warren?

Big picture? Let Willow have them. And good riddance. The Scoobies had Willow to deal with and the bumbling idiots were nothing more than a hindrance to them. Drop the dead weight. Get them out of the way and deal with the real big bad. Dark Willow.

It did seem like a very drawn out storyline to be fair, had the potential to be something more, but as you said, they were just bumbling idiots.

Also I'd like to add, I wish this Buffy forum was as busy as it was on iM*b, I miss all the regular chats and updates. :-(

You mean Jonathan and Andrew? Well, despite their personas as "villains" they were innocent and shouldn't be held responsible for the actions of Warren. Also, Willow was their friend and there's a difference in killing vampires and demons because they are soulless creatures who are evil incarnate. Jonathan and Andrew were people, killing them would have led Willow into a bad place where she is mentally broken and guilt-ridden. Killing Warren even played on her conscious, imagine if they had let her kill the other two on top of that? It wasn't so much that they were saving Jonathan and Andrew, but saving Willow from killing them and regretting it the rest of her life.

Yeah, Jonathan and Andrew. I had that all kinds of screwed up LOL.
