I'm on an Angel re-watch so I'll probably be flooding these boards with random AtS questions. Especially since the Angel boards are pretty inactive.
But anywho, I just finished Angel Season 3 and I'm wondering -- how did Angel and Darla produce Connor if it is impossible for vampires to reproduce?
Was it because Angel had a soul and Darla was resurrected (more than once)? -- thus making them more unique than the average vamp and capable of procreating?
Was it ever explained on the show how they were able to produce an offspring, or do others here have theories?
Watch the rest of the show. It's more than explained and it's not a random miracle. No theories needed.
And you already watched the episode in which Connor's human life was earned. It was The Trial back in season 2 prior to them sleeping together when Angel went through the Trials to save Darla's human life, but she was already living it (and dying of syphilis).
The Trial is where Connor's life was earned. Darla couldn't use the life Angel earned, because she was already living hers.
Jasmine and/or the Powers that Be were messing with his life as far back as Whistler bringing Angel to Buffy and Amends' Magic Snow (some even argue it wasn't the First who brought back Angel from hell, despite the credit taken for it).
Doyle and Cordy's visions came from the same source. Fred brought Lorne to L.A., who is the one who sent Angel and Darla to the Trials, woke up Jasmine and was used to trick A.I. that Angelus had a soul. Wesley and Holtz got Connor to adulthood faster.
Skip was 100% correct about how Angel, Darla, Connor, Holtz, Wesley, Doyle, Cordy, Fred and Lorne were used to set up the chess pieces.
It isn't until Inside Out (Darla is brought in to stop Connor and Jasmine) and You're Welcome (Cordy gives Angel a last vision of the Circle of the Black Thorn after Jasmine has died) that the Powers that Be act provably independently of Jasmine.
Note that Whistler was supposed to be Doyle and Doyle was meant to come back in season 4 as a villain, but Glenn Quinn overdosed in December 2002.

When was this confirmed? Can you tell me what episode number/title so I can re-watch?
Was it actually said on the show that the Powers were essentially highjacked by Jasmine?
