Who's your LEAST favorite character and how would you fix them?

As the title says. Who irked you the entire series? Which character got under your skin or felt useless or just gave you the perception that they made the show worse by being present?

Then, how do you feel you'd make the character better? Not simply removing them from the show but making them more...

Connor - He'd be more part of team Angel with no Cordy love. There would be some conflict with Angel but not all the hate. He was terrific in S-5, ANW and when he was working with AI but his anti-Angel was horrible

The Annoying One. By far!!!

To fix him. I think that I might have a little scene, even in flashback which shows his awakening and slow realization of what he now is.

For instance, maybe have him awaken and call for his mom. The Master could start to explain things to him while he is "remembering" his (abruptly, horrifically, destroyed) childhood. He might then remember the attack on his bus and the subsequent carnage. As this goes on, he could slowly morph into his evil new identity.

I think that later I'd like to see that he has kept his toy (hidden, of course).

I agree macpro. He wasn't really used much and very limited as a character. Also do you still visit? Haven't seen you on since I got here?

Dawn should have been scourged as punishment.

Definitely Dawn. I'd have Buffy push her off the cliff instead of sacrificing herself. It didn't help that she was played by Michelle T.

Dawn should've been younger

reply

Well Dawn was originally supposed to be a little kid.

Dawn was very annoying and tied to a very bad storyline, no way to fix her unless they made her a distant cousin and ditched her boring storyline.

Drusilla. I would've had Spike be an eternal bachelor and then finally wooed by the Slayer. Her cockney accent is terrible. If I can't remove her, I would have her use her own accent.

I know the fandom will go off, but for me: Buffy. I respect that Buffy was influential for and a product of her time. But I never really find myself rooting for her. With all the other characters, I concede Whedon does a good job of exploring their facets and seeking a middle ground between terrible and lovable - sometimes failing, but trying nonetheless. Not so much with Buffy.

I don't think Buffy ever really moved far from where she began. Whereas with, say, Faith, she had multiple changes and character arcs, went from questionable friend to badass villain to even worse villain to reformed friend. The role had real weight and meat to it, imo. I probably would have preferred that in the title character of the show.

No one was more annoying imo than Wesley during his time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Thankfully the Angel spinoffs superior writing turned him into a far better character.
