stargazer_1682 I've been CRAZY busy and wishing for time to revisit my friends -- and this ?!?
It's the Uber-suck!
During the show, I used to post on www.bronzebeta.com It's a message board rather than threaded. However, you could always find a cool discussion. A search using CTRL F can help you find posts directed to you (or others) or regarding things you enjoy. It's been slow lately but if enough of the Buffy board IMDb meets over there, we might be able to continue in a similar matter, if we try.
All topics are discussed but the board is moderated IIRC. All the characters, actors, cast, crew, writers, etc are highlighted in colours (again IIRC). Members of those VIP groups can get a special colour once they're verified. There's a history where you can review old posts by them and they are also archived online. Joss always forgot (forgets?) his sign in -- too funny!
Oddly, the website started to die when it started on Facebook. Funny that, huh? Maybe we can add a new dimension.
I post(ed) there as ...... macpro75 ....... because I'm so very original!
I think I will post this as it's own thread so perhaps some of us can meet up there and continue our discussions.... What do you think? In the meantime, pass the word if you think it's a good idea or at least worth trying.

I've heard of the site. Might try it out.
shareI hope to see you there! There is no formal registration. Just type in the posting name you want to use. To make it yours, use a colon and then a password specific to the site since administrators can see your password. As long as the name is not in use -- it's yours!

If you go there, since it's a simple message board and unthreaded, make sure you put in the name(s) of posters you wish to speak with in your post. People are usually good about speaking to anyone including having them join any ongoing conversations but most people CTRL F to find their name (or a topic they are interested in) rather than reading each post. The board has been pretty dead for a while now so someone could just read through easily, but in its heyday (and I hope resurgence) there would be numerous pages per day, sometimes per hour.

Or come to the http://buffy-boards.com/
shareLike nileqt87 and macpro75, I would really like to see people to move over to the new board, http://imdb2.freeforums.net/. I largely really like the idea of a predominantly wholesale migration of the members from this site to a new space specifically for the purpose of sustaining most if not everything established here; and kind of give a big *beep* you to IMDb, that they can take away the venue, but not the community.
And I already like a lot of what I see there; the posting options look like they were developed during this millennia, everything so far seems to work pretty well, and I think the text boxes might be wider, because I copied over a thread I had recently started here in the Trekkers Only board, to that board on the new site, and in contrast to what looked like a much longer, dense post on IMDb, looked much more reasonable over there. And that's something I had always resigned to make peace with when posting here; where I get grief fro the lengths of some of my posts, but when I proof them, my first thought is often, "this text isn't nearly as long as it looks" - it's the space it's crammed into. It's my chief complaint about Facebook comments, and why scoffed at IMDb's suggest we use their Facebook page for discussions; when that just gets compressed even more.
So I know it's mentioned in at least one other thread, but I highly recommend going over to the imdb2 forums (they're exploring changing the name/url to stand out from IMDb and not have them come down on them to change it. At present they've dubbed the full name "Internet Media Discussion Boards".
If we get enough Buffy regulars to register and chime in a desire for our own Buffyverse board, we can probably get one. In the meantime, the Cult TV Shows boards seems to be the best place to setup shop.
